
Alice M. Fisher was born in California, raised in rural Upstate New York on
18 acres, and is an Air Force Veteran and currently resides in Montgomery
County , Maryland. Fisher says, "I straddle with passion two creative worlds,
that of visual arts and MarCom Management". As you see in the Winter’s
Den Gallery, her eye is drawn for the oft unseen images not captured in our
regular busy work-a-day lives, and our disappearing rural America.
Education:
MA in public communication from the American University, Washington, D.C.;
BA in public relations from Weber State University, Ogden, Utah, with dual
minors in Art and French.
Professional Background:
Ms Fisher brings 16 years of strategic integrated communications, marketing
and project management experience to her clients of all sizes. She has
worked extensively with creative directors, executive management teams,
online developers, and production teams to ensure an integrated delivery of
a brand’s message.
Ms. Fisher’s expertise lies in contract management, Internet marketing, print
advertising, media relations, radio advertising, campaign planning, budget
management, cultural outreach campaigns, B2B outreach and community
outreach programs. She has a strong professional background, specifically
in new media technologies, public relations, advocacy outreach and
marketing for government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and
corporations. Her commercial media and communication experience involved
such corporations as GM, Lockheed Martin, TRW, Thiokol, NCI, Southern
States, and Anheuser-Busch.
Most recently while working for JDG Communications, Ms. Fisher served as
the most senior account executive while working on JDG’s largest contract
win in history for the General Services Administration (GSA). She was
responsible for all external client contacts, and every facet of the contract,
translating client needs into direct action,across 34 GSA subcontracts while
managing $3.8M in 12 short months.
After several years agency side, Ms. Fisher responded to our Nation’s critical
communication outreach needs during the 2005 hurricanes as a contracted
Emergency Response Project Manager for FEMA, and served at the JFO
headquarters in Mississippi and in southern Louisiana. Her responsibilities
involved working as a Federal liaison for the States (grantee), and local city
governments (sub grantees), and debris management sub contractors like
the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to provide contract oversight in helping all
parties determine the amount of federal funding needed, communication
outreach to educate applicants on specific program issues and procedures,
assist the applicant with the development of immediate emergency response
for debris clean up procedures, and as well Federal oversight monitoring 35
city/parish of debris removal processes and disposal in four Louisiana
counties.
Prior to that, Ms. Fisher has worked on the agency-side in Washington, DC
metro area for eleven years and has served such clients such as the EPA,
SAMHSA, NIA, NIH, SBA, FDA’s Office of Women’s Health National
Menopause Health Campaign, Children’s Mental Health Services (CMHS),
Future Harvest, Experience Works, Inc. U.S. Department of Treasury’s EFT
and National Direct Deposit Campaign and the USDA’s Rural Business
Enterprise Grant for Geezer.com, which resulted in a 4,000 percent growth
rate in traffic and extensive national press coverage under her supervision.
Her agency tenure includes, Earl Palmer Brown PR Agency, The Media
Network, Experience Works (formerly Green Thumb), Vanguard
Communications, and ICF Consulting.
She previously worked on communication and marketing projects for national
technology education outreach programs such as the Center for Aerospace
Technology (CAST) and the Space Education Data Resource Center
(SEDRC), departmental programs within the College of Applied Science and
Technology at Weber State University. Weber State University, NASA,
Thiokol, the U.S. Air Force, and Senator Robert F. Bennett of Utah.
